Dr. Britney Pierce
Bird Behavior Analyst & Avian Psychology Researcher
Dr. Britney Pierce is a bird behavior analyst and researcher specializing in avian psychology and human–bird interaction. She studied ornithology at Cornell Lab of Ornithology at Cornell University, where she developed a strong foundation in bird behavior, observation methods, and avian communication.
Dr. Pierce’s interest in birds began in an unexpected way. After a personal incident involving birds in 2010, she became fascinated with understanding their behavior, motivations, and social patterns. What began as a personal challenge quickly turned into a research passion. Her work focuses on analyzing patterns in bird activity, studying behavioral triggers, and helping people better understand how birds interact with their environments.
Today, Dr. Pierce contributes research and analysis to Bird Truth, where she helps translate complex bird behavior into accessible insights for researchers, enthusiasts, and the public. Her work combines scientific observation with psychological interpretation to explore the deeper patterns behind avian behavior.
Dr. Leonard Peckford, Ph.D. On: X
Researcher and Activist in Avian Deterrence and Nuisance Management
Dr. Leonard Peckford is an expert and activist in avian deterrence and bird related nuisance management, with over a decade of field and research experience. Known for his precise, no nonsense approach, Peckford has built a reputation as the go-to professional for cities, corporations, and property owners dealing with many bird issues.
Peckford received his Ph.D in Urban Ecology with a focus on avian behavioral patterns, where his early research examined how birds adapt to human environments and more importantly, how to disrupt those adaptations. Early in his career, he worked as a field ornithologist, but after a couple years of observing increasingly aggressive bird populations, he shifted his focus towards control, prevention, and deterrence strategies.
While people might appreciate birds from afar, Dr. Peckford focuses on maintaining a balance between human environments and wildlife to ensure that when conflict arises, humanity comes out on top.
